Christians have such good news of what God has done, they love to share it with others.

Members of MIE are involved in Bible translation in a number of countries. We also believe that the work of God's Church is to help build a kingdom of justice and care for those often marginalised. The church gives a significant proportion of its annual income to missionary and social projects both in the UK and overseas.

We not only want to support our Mission Partners financially but also pray for them. You can find out more about them, and their work and how to pray for them from the menu on the left.

How to pray for the Global Church

Pray for the World

It’s good to have a wide interest in God’s world, but it’s hard to pray for all of it, so
concentrate on one or two places, and pray about those. Read the papers and listen to the news and pray for the issues mentioned. Use books like Operation World for fuel for prayer—from the needs of the church to social concerns to the
political and economic situation of each country.

Pray prayers from the Bible

Use prayers in the Bible to pray for mission workers and for Christians in other countries, e.g.

  • For boldness—Eph. 6:19-20

  • For the spread of God’s word—2 Thess 3:1

  • For opportunity and clarity—Colossians 4:3-4

  • For protection—2 Thessalonians 3:2-3

  • For wisdom—Ephesians 1:17-23

  • For love and understanding—Philippians 1:9-11

Pray with others

In your home group, choose one or two of the people or organisations that we’re linked with and commit to pray regularly for them.

Pray little and often

As well as using prayer news, why not pray whenever you see the country where the mission partner or organisation is working mentioned in the news, or when you see a car or restaurant or box of chocolates from their part of the world?
