LEGACIES

At St John’s we welcome all gifts in Wills, however large or small, and we promise to use your gift to make a difference in our parish. Since needs change over the years, we encourage you to leave a gift in your Will for the general purposes of the parish rather than for a restricted purpose.

In keeping with the St John’s policy for all income, a proportion of all unrestricted legacy gifts will be given to support the ministry of the wider church; this proportion is set by the PCC annually [1].

The policy of the PCC is to use the balance of the gifts to help fund significant development projects in the parish, whether buildings, equipment, mission or staff. You can be confident that your gift will be used to make a real difference to our future mission and ministry. If you prefer we can make sure that gifts remain anonymous.

If you would like to talk to someone in confidence about leaving a legacy to St John’s please contact one of the following people:

Priest-in-charge
Church Warden
Treasurer

[1] For 2016 the proportion of the church’s income that is allocated as grants for the work of the wider church is 10%
